My name is Medine Yigit. I was born and raised in the beautiful Black Forest area in the south of Germany where my parents and siblings still live. After studying at the University of Education in Ludwigsburg, Germany, I successfully accomplished the teacher training in a picturesque little town called Neubulach. In Calw, I worked from 2008 to 2012 as a full time teacher where I taught 1- 10 graders in various subjects such as German, English, and Social Studies. In 2012, I decided that it was time for a challenge and I moved to Charlotte, NC to be a German Immersion Teacher in fourth grade. It was a wonderful experience where not just the students but also myself learned a lot about languages and cultures. After five years of living in the USA, I returned back to Germany and I taught in Calw again, which is also known as the “Herman Hesse” town. In my free time I love to travel and explore areas and countries. My last big trip was to Peru where I had the chance to experience new way of lives and traditions. Climbing the Machu Picchu Mountain was definitely my highlight though! 2020-2021 will be my 13th year of teaching and my second at Deerfield Elementary School in Lexington, SC. |
